Xindows Tiler è un semplice Applet specifico per Gnome per il controllo di ogni singola finestra. Scritto in Python e Pygtk offre con pochi click ci controllare regolare spostare qualsiasi finestra sia attiva che non del nostro desktop. Questo e’ specialmente utile per confrontare prodotti in pagine web separate, o per programmatori per confrontarsi con la documentazione mentre programmano.
Ecco le novità della nuova versione 1.5 tratte dal sito del produttore:
• implemented the automatic detection of a second monitor, in this case a second column of checkboxes will appear and it will be possible to tile on either monitor 1 or 2. The automatically detected monitor area can be overridden from the preferences window (thanks Taras)
• added in the preferences window two parameters to control the windows overlapping (which is due to the windows framing)
• added the option to select a custom language for the application in the preferences window
• fixed many bugs
Se vogliamo installarlo su Ubuntu basta scaricare il file .deb dal link posto sotto cliccarci esopra e confermare oppure aprire il terminale recarsi dentro la cartella e scrivere:
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
e poi
sudo apt-get install -f
e confermiamo.
